End of the world career theory takes a different approach. Research by Dr Christian Anersen asks what we can learn from the theoretical collapse of society and what this means for our jobs. And the answer for job interviews is very interesting.
Here are the top five tips to improve your interview technique:
1) Fear is everything
Remember, if they do not fear you, they are a threat! This goes equally to the suited men and women asking you questions as it does the invading hordes trying to take your berries.
Make it very clear that you will take no prisoners with a threatening demeanour.
2) Never blink
Strength is key and blinking is for the weak. Ensure that a proper impression is given by never, ever blinking. If you blink you are dead – or worse, unemployed!
3) Regale in stories of victory
They want to hear about your past, to understand who you are. So tell your stories as if you are trying to inspire a riot or move the people around your camp fire. Tell them of the victories over your enemies who are no longer.
And do not forget the deep booming voice. And that goes double for you, ladies!
4) Silence is your friend
Those who talk too much are nervous. Embrace silence. The more comfortable you are to sit and stare in silence, the more powerful you will seem.
Everyone loves confidence.
5) Weapons are a-okay
In the end, words are just that, but how to show you are prepared to go the distance for the company? Easy answer: weapons!
It is also a great way to highlight a point if while talking you pull out a sword. Never mind punctuation points when you have three feet of hard and sharp steel.
